Amusement Advantage: mobile-friendly, page by page.

How Effortless Presence is moving Amusement Advantage's contractor site to a new mobile-responsive layout, one tested page at a time, so contractors can find opportunities and check assignment status from a phone.

// The challenge

Contractors work from their phones. The pages were built for large screens.

Amusement Advantage helps attractions measure and improve the guest experience. Its network of over 60,000 contractors includes mystery shoppers. They use the site on their phones for daily tasks, at home and in the field. Mobile use is widespread in its industry, and people expect simple, quick access.

New contractors wanted to sign up and apply for opportunities from a phone. Existing contractors wanted to request opportunities, update requests, check assignment status, and upload images. On a small screen, pages built for large screens made those tasks harder and slower, and in some cases close to impossible.

// What we changed

Everyday contractor tasks, laid out for a phone.

πŸ“

Sign up and log in

New contractors sign up to join the network, and existing contractors log in for their daily tasks.

πŸ”

Find opportunities

Contractors search and view opportunities on pages sized for the screen in their hand.

🎟️

Apply and request

New contractors apply for opportunities, and existing contractors request them, right from a phone.

✏️

Update requests

Contractors update their requests whether they're at home or out in the field.

πŸ“‹

Check assignment status

Contractors see where each assignment stands on a page designed for simple, quick access.

πŸ“Έ

Upload images

Existing contractors upload images through a page that fits the phone they already carry.

// Flight plan

Each page gets a test flight before launch.

Step 1

Understand

Start with the use case and business need, then suggest a tailored layout.

Step 2

Redesign

Move the page to the new mobile-responsive layout so it fits a phone screen.

Step 3

Test flight

Test and review the page on a staging copy of the site before contractors see it.

Step 4

Launch

Roll the page out to contractors, then start on the next one.

β€œThey take the time to truly understand the use case and business need and suggest solutions tailored to our specific needs. Solutions often exceed expectations as to final design and functionality. They are always quick to respond to issues that require urgency and frequently offer help outside the scope of current projects.”
